WORK to remove trees which are damaging a section of the A52 will take place for approximately two weeks from 4 December, weather permitting.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place during normal working hours between Swaton and Horbling, near Billingborough while the work is carried out.
Area highways manager Rowan Smith, said: “We have no choice but to remove some of the trees as they are growing so vigorously they are taking moisture out of the soil beneath the road, which as a result is causing an uneven road surface. The road is safe to travel on at the moment but over time if left, it could become gradually worse.
“Once the works are complete, and the soils have been allowed to settle, we will carry out patching works to the worst affected areas.
“This will improve safety and ensure a smoother journey for all road users.”
