Tories hold South Kesteven but lose in the North

Councils across Lincolnshire have now declared the winners and losers in this year’s local elections.

In South Kesteven the Conservatives continue their grip on the district, but in North Kesteven they have been re4placed by two independent parties.

Across Greater Lincolnshire the Conservatives held their the lead with a total of 178 councillors – however, a number of authorities saw the party lose one or two, while Independent candidates took a leap forward in numbers.

Elsewhere, there were 59 Labour, 44 independent, 18 Lib Deb and Lincolnshire Independent and one UKIP councillor.
