Frank Topps (1945-2013)
BORN in Grantham, Frank Robert Topps, was the son of Harold and Ethel Topps
Aged 19, he started his own butchery business in Great Gonerby. He built up a successful, mobile business, procuring some of his meat from his own smallholding, where he kept cattle and pigs.
It remained a family business and he worked closely with his meat wholesaler brother, Ian and nephew Mark and alongside his wife and daughters. Throughout his working life he focused on his business and his animals.
After early retirement he discovered bowling and gardening, loving particularly his greenhouse and his organic vegetable garden.
He also enjoyed travelling in the UK in his camper van and spending time at his holiday homes in France and Spain.
