The ten best state schools in the East Midlands have been revealed – and eight of them are in Lincolnshire with two of the top three in Grantham.
The Parent Power, Sunday Times School Guide 2020 identifies the 2,000 highest achieving schools in the UK as ranked by their recent examination results.
There were no Lincolnshire schools in the top ten independent secondary schools list for the region but the county dominated the state schools list
Caistor Grammar School was ranked as the top performing state school in the region, ranking 105th nationally. 67.5% of students achieved A* to B grades in their A Levels while 63.6% of GCSE students were given grades nine to seven.
The Kings School and Kesteven and Grantham Girls’ School, both in Grantham, came in at 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Meanwhile, Bourne Grammar School finished fourth and Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School in Alford came in sixth.
Spalding Grammar School was ranked seventh, Spalding High School came in at ninth and King Edward VI Grammar School in Louth finished tenth.
