This weekend is National Specials Weekend, and whilst we appreciate the time they commit and the brilliant work they do all year round, it’s a great time to pause and say a huge thank you.
It’s perhaps even more appropriate this year given the national crisis facing the country and the strain on the emergency services. And our Specials have stepped up serving more than 8,000 hours since the start of lockdown.
Here, six of our serving Specials tell us why they commit their free time to the force, and in particular when confronted with the dangers of the coronavirus pandemic.
