Sylvia Mary Atkinson passed away peacefully at home on 13 th August 2025 at the age of 93.
Beloved wife of the late Ken, devoted mother to Karen and Adrian, and mother-in-law to
Mike. A much-loved grandmother to Hetty, Gemma and James, and proud great-grandmother to Riley, Ethan, Eliza and Effie.
Born in Ripon and always proud to be a Yorkshire girl, Sylvia moved to Grantham just before
the Second World War and made it her lifelong home. Known for her warm humour and love
of a laugh, Sylvia enjoyed gardening, travelling – especially her many trips back to Yorkshire – and spending time with family and friends.
Her funeral will take place at Grantham Crematorium on Tuesday 9th September at 12:30.
