The contactless card limit goes up to £100 today, Friday 15th October.
To increase your credit and debit card security, follow these tips provided by our crime prevention advisers:
💳 NEVER give your PIN number to anyone – a legitimate company will never ask for this information
💳 Do not write your PIN number down – this could result in being accused of negligence by your bank or lender and if you do happen to be a victim of fraud, you may not get your money back
💳 Do not use birthdays or obvious consecutive numbers when choosing a PIN
💳 Dispose of confidential documents appropriately, preferably through a cross-hatch shredder
💳 Be cautious when using public Wi-Fi – logging onto your banking app using a public Wi-Fi connection may enable fraudsters to intercept your communications
💳 Consider purchasing a card defender or signal blocking Faraday bag to keep your cards safe from cloning – look for the Secured by Design logo to ensure the produce has been tested to meet high standards of security
