An exciting and varied summer programme of entertainment has been unveiled for council arts centres in Grantham and Stamford.
South Kesteven District Council’s popular Grantham Guildhall Arts Centre and Stamford Arts Centre are staging family-friendly programmes with something for everyone.
New brochures are available in both centres and online, listing events from May to July including drama, talks, crafts, disco toddlers, Music in Quiet Places, ballet, musicals, comedy and cinema.
Sports lovers will be delighted to hear that former international cricketer Jonathan Agnew is back in both Grantham and Stamford after his previous sell-out shows.
With anecdotes and guaranteed laughter ‘Aggers’ will relive the trauma of the winter’s Ashes series, look ahead to its impact on English cricket and take his audience deep into his own extraordinary Australian outback adventure.
Another highlight is ‘Pride & Prejudice…But Funny’, an hilarious retelling of Austen’s most loved story by self-confessed buffoons The Lamphouse Company.
Christian Garrick & the Budapest Café Orchestra are also returning to Stamford following last year’s sold-out performance of music from all corners of the world.
In Grantham, live eight-piece live band Soul Battalion are back by popular demand bringing soul and Motown hits of the 60’s and 70s.
Firm favourites ‘Let’s All Dance Ballet Company’ present engaging shows for young and family as the perfect introduction to live ballet and just how important it is to look after the planet.
Cllr Paul Stokes, SKDC Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for arts and culture, said: “This summer’s programme really does have something for everyone. Our arts centres staff are dedicated to providing all-round entertainment and they have excelled themselves with a brilliant programme of what we can look forward to and enjoy in the coming months.”
