Still time for Forces families to respond to survey

There is still time for Armed Forces families to share their experiences as part of a wide-ranging survey looking at aspects of military life.

More than 500 people have already replied to the survey, targeting people in South Kesteven, Rutland and Harborough.

It’s aimed at anyone with a connection to the British Armed Forces and is the first of its kind to take place across the three local authority areas.

For South Kesteven District Council, Armed Forces Champion and Cabinet Member Cllr Nick Neilson said that the sheer number of responses showed how valuable the survey is proving to be.

He said: “I would urge anyone with an Armed Forces connection not to lose this opportunity to make their voices heard. We look forward to assessing the findings and stress SKDC’s commitment to acting on those findings.”

Regular armed forces personnel, reservists, veterans of all ages and extended members of forces families are all being encouraged to take part in the survey, which runs until 31 March 2019.

The survey has been developed by SKDC along with Rutland County Council, Harborough District Council and Healthwatch Rutland.

It is hoped that, for all three areas, the information gathered will help to improve local services for individuals and families who are connected to the Forces.

Survey findings will be fed into a detailed report examining the areas where more can be done to help current and past members of the Armed Forces and their families.
