Grantham Bike Night is a triumph
Grantham Bike Night welcomed the crowds with a festival of machines and music on a glorious summer evening.
Organisers South Kesteven District Council estimate more than 1,200 bikes and around 3,000 visitors attended.
Cllr Paul Stokes, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure, said: “Grantham Bike Night has once again been a fantastic success and it was brilliant to see bikes and visitors turning out in their thousands to enjoy everything the evening had to offer.
“The sunshine, live entertainment and incredible atmosphere made it a real celebration for the town.
“It’s always great to see so many people coming together to support an event like this and the feedback we’ve received has been overwhelmingly positive. We’re grateful to everyone who visited, displayed their bikes and helped make the evening such a memorable occasion.”
The event took place in the Grantham Market Place events area and the surrounding streets.
The music line-up comprised Wild Summer; Castella; D!abla; Band From County Hell.
The event is designed to appeal to all ages and built on the popularity of the inaugural Bike Night last year.
Motorbike enthusiasts, specialist traders, bike clubs, vendors and visitors made the trip in from across a wide area, including Boston and Yorkshire.
South Kesteven District Council thanks all those involved in the success, including the local bike clubs who helped the free event run smoothly.
