Work is set to begin on a new homes development in Bottesford after detailed plans were given the go-ahead by the local authority.
Melton Borough Council has approved Bellway’s reserved matters planning application for 60 homes to be built on land off Grantham Road, after outline plans were granted permission last year.
The development, which will be known as The Vale, will consist of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, including a range of bungalows, alongside public open space, with the first plots set to be released for sale next year.
Sales Director for Bellway East Midlands, Carolyne Watkinson, said: “The Vale is bringing much-needed homes to this part of Leicestershire, with a wide selection of properties that will appeal to a variety of potential buyers.
“Bellway is committed to investing in the local communities where we build new homes. We aim to make a positive impact to the local areas that our developments are in, not just through the high-quality homes we provide, but also through financial contributions towards local infrastructure and facilities.
“We’re now starting work on site and are looking forward to welcoming the first visitors to the development next year.
“In the meantime, people who are interested in the new homes coming soon at The Vale can register their interest online to receive the latest updates as they become available.”
Among the new homes at The Vale, Bellway is providing 19 affordable homes for local people.
As part of the planning agreement, Bellway will also be making significant contributions to the local community, including over £170,000 towards secondary education and £26,000 towards health care. A further £43,000 will be invested in bus passes, as well as £3,500 towards bus stop improvements.
