InvestSK is inviting businesses and other local organisations to attend a workshop on February 27 to share their opinions of Grantham’s town centre and offer ideas for how it could be improved.
Following a successful pitch last year which saw Grantham secure a place on the Government’s shortlist for its £1 billion Future High Streets programme, the economic development and regeneration company has been commissioned by South Kesteven District Council to develop the full bid for funding which will be submitted in June.
The views and insight gathered from local stakeholders during the facilitated consultation workshop will form a crucial part of the funding bid.
Councillor Kelham Cooke, Chairman of InvestSK and Leader of South Kesteven District Council, said: “Grantham has a rich heritage, enviable connectivity and huge potential for dynamic and sustainable growth.
“We’re committed to realising Grantham’s potential for the benefit of the whole community. If successful, the bid we’re developing for the Government’s Future High Street programme will catalyse the town’s regeneration and make it a more attractive place to live, work, invest in, and visit.”
The workshop will explore what physical improvements could be made to boost the experience of the town centre and how more people could be attracted to develop a more diverse town centre offer.
If you’re a local business, property owner or other local organisation with an interest in helping to shape Grantham’s regeneration, then please share your views at the consultation workshop on Thursday 27th February at the Guildhall in Grantham.
There will be a breakfast workshop for local businesses from 8am – 9.30am; a walk around the town centre at 11am; followed by a second workshop for wider stakeholders at 12 noon. Places are free but must be booked in advance via Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/grantham-future-high-streets-consultation-workshop-tickets-93885103873
