Police are investigating a report of a sexual assault on a 13-year-old girl in the Wyndham Park area.
The assault is reported to have happened on Friday Aril 24th at around 4.30pm near to the top of the park between Riverside and Sandon Road.
The young girl reported walking along Riverside towards the area known as Sedgwick Meadows, which leads to Sandon Road, and went past the gate which divides the two fields. It was at this location she reported being approached from behind by a man on a bike who asked her for the time. He then sexually assaulted her before cycling off towards Wyndham Park.
The man is described as approximately early 20s, having brown short hair, stubble. He is of medium build and approximately 5’ 9” tall. He was wearing a dark T shirt, black coat/jacket, blue jeans and was carrying a grey back pack. We do not have details of the bike at this stage.
Officers are paying extra attention to this area of Grantham but believe this is an isolated case and have not had any further reports.
They are appealing to anyone who was in the area around 4.30 on Friday 24th April who may have seen the man on the bike and also anyone who thinks they may know who he is.
