ANOTHER search has been organised by friends and neighbours of Derek Foster, who has been missing for nearly a week.
One of the organisers Alice Noquet says this time they will search parts of Grantham and will meet outside the town’s museum, St Peter’s Hill, at noon today.
She said: “We are hoping to check the quieter parts of town. We would like as many people as possible to turn out to help.
Yesterday, about 50 people turned up at the Red Lion, Bottesford, and searched for any trace of the 83-year-old between the village and his home in Longh Bennington.
Mr Foster, was last sighted at Grantham Bus station at 2.35pm on Tuesday (23rd December)
Mr Foster, known as Derek Foster, was last seen when he left Grantham Hospital on Tuesday (23rdDecember) after treatment for a fractured shoulder.
He left the hospital following an out-patient appointment and was supposed to go his home in Lilley Street, Long Bennington, but he has never arrived.
When he left hospital he was wearing a dark brown overcoat, dark trousers and shoes. He is described as a white man, with grey receeding hair, glasses, of slim build.
He has a fractured left shoulder which means his left arm is incapacitated and he cannot move it. He has a distinctive gait due to his arm and his walk is described as a ‘shuffle’.
Someone on the Long Bennington bus saw Derek waiting at Stand 5 – from where buses go to Bottesford – and thought it strange that he was not going to Long Bennington where he lives.
