Lincolnshire Police received an online report yesterday from a Lincoln man who had been the target of an attempted fraud.
He received a call from a withheld number; a man on the phone claimed to be a Police Officer. He was told that a relative had been arrested and was asked to pay a sum of money for bail.
Thankfully he was aware that it was a scam and did not give any bank details over the phone.
Police would like to warn residents of Lincolnshire that no Police Officer would ever ask for any money from you.
Please pass this message on to any friends or family, we are particularly concerned that this sort of fraud may affect the vulnerable members of our community.
