Ian Joseph Edward Robson (1977 – 1995)

Ian Robson, of Sleaford, was a trainee rep[orter with the Grantham Journal.

After attending Carre’s Grammar School, he went to Lancaster University, gaining a degree in English and Linguistics.

A member of the New Life Church, he was a guitarist with their music group. He was also a member of the Kate Bush Fan Club.

Popular with fellow journalist, he went for a pint with them after work on a  Friday evening in 1995, after which he was catching the train to Blackpool where he and a friend were due to spend the weekend.

After they bid each other farewell, there was nothing to suggest they would never see him again.

But when Ian discovered the Blackpool hotel had been destroyed in a fire, he went to Manchester instead.

After visiting a gay bar in the city, where he met male model Wayne Price (35), his mutilated body was found in a Salford Flat.

The case never went to trial as Price, who had appeared in gay porn videos, hanged himself in Strangeways Prison while on remand charged with Ian’s murder.
