In its first 2025 monthly clean-up (144th) since November and the recent floods was a powerful testament to community spirit!
38 amazing volunteers joined in to restore their adopted riverside. After two months, and the river’s recent turbulent time, there was much to do.
Working across the river, riparian zones, and streets, we uncovered a shocking amount of litter exposed by receding vegetation.
The river team faced a daunting task at Wyndham Park, Grantham, clearing debris from the flooded berm, including a torn dinghy.

By midday, their efforts yielded a staggering haul: 26 bags of litter, 6 bags of recyclables (117 cans, 54 plastic bottles, 108 glass bottles), 72 vape cartridges, 2 trolleys, dingy, skateboard and countless pieces of manufactured wood.
A highlight? Julia’s discovery of a 1950s Franco Traffic Signs bus stop sign! One for their #vintagelitter collection.
