Robert Holland Funeral Directors says…
Yesterday morning we laid a wreath at the moving ceremony in remembrance for the civilian war dead of Grantham led by Rev. David Shenton from United Parish of the Trinity – South Grantham.
Grantham Mayor Dean Ward, laid the first wreath followed by Kelham Cooke and other dignitaries from South Kesteven District Council.
As with many things at the moment, the service was more low key than usual so the children from St. Anne’s School sadly weren’t able to attend this year.
Normally they would, after the service, go around the cemetery to place wooden crosses on each of the common wealth war graves.
We were proud to be asked by the local Royal British Legion to place the crosses.
We walked around the cemetery and visited 101 individual war graves to pay our respects and put the crosses in place
