Police are appealing for information after a poppy collection box was stolen in a burglary from a property in Chapel Lane, Claypole.
On Sunday 9th November, after attending a Remembrance parade, the victims, who are responsible for the distribution and collection of poppy appeals within the area for the Royal British Legion, returned home.
At around 12:30pm on that day one of the poppy collection pots was dropped off at the house as it was full. This was left on the floor inside the house but to the side of the front door.
The victims briefly popped out, leaving the house insecure. Within approximately 20 minutes they returned to find someone had entered the house and stolen the poppy collection pot along with the poppy box, which still contained the paper poppies.
Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything relating to the offence, or anyone who might have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time, to contact Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting incident 110 of 12/11/14.
