
Lincolnshire Police are renewing their appeal for witnesses after a woman and her dog were killed in a collision on the A1 near South Witham on Saturday evening.
Officers are now asking specifically for anyone who was travelling northbound or southbound on the A1 at South Witham between 9.15pm and 9.30pm on 9 May and saw a man, woman and dog walking in the area to get in touch. Anyone who may have captured the pedestrians or the collision on dashcam is also asked to come forward.
The collision, which happened at around 9.35pm north of the junction for South Witham and Castle Bytham, claimed the life of a 52-year-old woman. A large dog also died.
A 24-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving has been released under investigation, and a 58-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has been released without charge. Police say they are satisfied there are no further suspicious circumstances, and inquiries are continuing in relation to causing death by careless driving.
