Lincolnshire Police have launched their Roads Policing Plan for 2020 – 2020 which sets out how they will police our roads in Lincolnshire up to and including 2022.
Officers in Specialist Operations, Local Policing and the Crime Command will focus on education, enforcement, engagement and engineering.
Working with our partners in the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership we will:
• Achieve a sustainable reduction in the number of people killed or seriously injured in road collisions
• Have the safest roads in the UK
• Make our roads a hostile environment for criminals
• Reduce the risk to and from younger and older road users through education, engagement and enforcement
Superintendent Paul Timmins, Head of Specialist Operations, said: “We will continue to invest in roads policing and take the driving seat in reducing risk and harm on our roads.
“The public have a really important part to play; road safety is everyone’s responsibility. We can only achieve our aims with the support of our local communities. I appeal to all our road users to work with us and help drive down the number of people killed or seriously injured on our roads.
“We are investing in roads policing officers as part of the uplift of additional officers in our county. Our officers, special constables and volunteers will all be working hard to educate or enforce road traffic legislation. I invite our communities to read this plan and to work with us to keep our roads safer.
“Our officers are on patrol engaging and enforcing with a fresh and renewed focus on road safety and policing our roads to deny criminal activity.”
