Monday 22nd April is Earth Day.
This Earth Day, Ed is encouraging people to plant wildflowers not only to offset their own carbon usage, but to ‘plant it forward’ and offset their neighbour’s, friend’s or client’s.
How?
- Visit www.mysquaremetre.co.uk and use our carbon calculators to work out the carbon footprint of regular activities, like driving, grabbing a coffee, or even spending time on social media.
- Input your monthly usage of the activities below and work out how much carbon is produced
- Then offset this with a monthly subscription. And that’s it!
Why?
If you really want to take action on carbon emissions and boost biodiversity, planting trees isn’t always the best option. Wildflowers start sequestering carbon within the first year of planting, and provide food and a habitat for wildlife including pollinators.
Did you know?
- My Square Metre, has been working hard to plant new areas of wildflower meadow & increase the biodiversity on the land they protect.
- Every time someone chooses to offset their land and space with them, they find out what the land needs and get to work.
- So far they have planted 1,744 square metres of meadowland with 872k wildflowers and offset 5,232kg of CO2, and these numbers are only climbing thanks to people like you!
