Overhead electric wires have been damaged between Grantham and Newark North Gate, causing long delays.
As a result of this, trains are unable to run between Grantham and Doncaster.
A limited service will be able to run via Lincoln Central and Gainsborough. Please allow for an extended journey time if you are on one of these trains.
Due to the nature of the damage and repairs required, Network Rail anticipate disruption will continue until the end of service.
Some passengers have been left sweltering in the heat as they await transfers.
Buses are operating between Doncaster, Retford, Newark, Grantham and Peterborough to help with journeys. Customers should speak with station staff for further information on using these services. Buses have also been requested to run between York and Newcastle.
LNER are also advising customers not to travel today. Customers with tickets dated today, Tuesday 23rd July may use their tickets tomorrow, Wednesday 24th July.
Customers who do decide to travel today can use tickets for cancelled services on the train before or after the service specified in the original booking.
