The Thinker says
Had some good nights there when it was Cat Ballou Stoke Rockford Club and later The After Eight.
Some of Grantham’s more famous and infamous names also frequented that establishment.
Greeves says
Just that little room upstairs left there look! where I had to go when you came in!
The Thinker says
In your dreams old man! That’s were you did a bit o business, don’t know what kind of course! more than likely a bit on the dodgy side
I keep telling you I am not who you think I am, never been a problem to any one, least of all you.
In Grantham the other day thought I saw “Golly” remember him? Well he was walking ( rather slowly I might add) just up Westgate, I didn’t speak as I weren’t too sure if it was him or not but it looked a lot like him.
Anyway back to you and your dodgy dealings in the upstairs room of “What ever club it was called this week” me I’d be downstairs doing my stuff on the dance floor to a decent bit of Northern Soul, and don’t knock it before you start.
Might have seen you carrying your “ John Holt” and other assorted LPs about, a bit like Frank used to do on a Friday night, seen him walk past the “Spotted” hundreds of times with his stack of LPs tucked under his arm, bless him I wonder what happened to him?
I bet you were a fan of the “Bay City Rollers”…….don’t tell me, You had a pair of tartan trousers as well, me into my “baggies and brogues and Ben Sherman shirt” out for the kill on a Friday night I can tell you.
If I arrived home before mid morning on Saturday something was wrong I can tell you.
Greeves says
Mmmmmmmn should have got your autograph? ………..Why did you disappear during the week? & get home on A Saturday morning? You was a driver! Where’s Bay City ? Nah not getting you on this one? You ok? …. Surprised you didn’t talk to Graham? Doesn’t matter if you was wrong! Oh. Well! Catch yer!
