Lincolnshire Co-op’s £1.5 million food store on the corner of Springfield Road and Hanbury Avenue will open on Thursday April 2.
The 3,000 sq ft store will create 15 jobs for the area, boosting the local economy. Work started onsite in summer 2019 and is nearing completion
There will be parking for 20 cars.
Once open, the store will offer food to go and groceries, chilled beers, wines and meal solutions, plus goods in Lincolnshire Co-op’s Love Local range including Grantham Gingerbread made by local producer Hawkens Gingerbread.
Lincolnshire Co-op’s Store Development Manager Matt Wilkinson said: “We’re excited to be bringing a food store to Grantham and work onsite is going well.
“It’s our first food store in the town and will add to the valued services already provided by our nearby Grantham Travel branch and Barrowby Gate Pharmacy.”
The new store will open from 7am to 10pm seven days a week.
The range on offer includes food-to-go, fruit and veg, a large selection of chilled meals, plus cold beers and wines.
There will also be a wide selection of groceries including the Love Local range, which features goods sourced from the area including Grantham Gingerbread, Grantham Gin and Witham Wines.
Services will include a free-to-use ATM, freshly-baked goods from Gadsby’s and takeaway Costa Coffee.
But the new store may face tough competition in the not-too-distant future, as Aldi has applied to build a new store on Trent Road, near the Springfield Road junction.
