Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, this year’s Easter Egg Run has been cancelled.
The event, where up to 1,000 motorcyclists, many of them in costume, deliver Easter Eggs to under privilage children, leave Bottesford before malking deliveries to Grantham Leisure Centre and Melton Mowbray has become a popular event on the calendar.
This year’s was set to be the 30th Anniversary
Organiser John Bartlett said: “We are prempting the government ban on large numbers and also the homes in Lincolnshire have decided that there are to be no visiters, so no eggs can be delivered.
“The Birchwood School in Melton were fine, but have now agreed that it is probably the wise thing to do.
“At the moment the 31st Annual Christmas Toy Run will take place on the 29th of November, but watch this space !!
“We are very sad about this, but is is in everyone’s interest to keep safe.”
