Grantham now has one of three Co-operative Travel and Carrick Travel* branches across the counties reopen this December, following the end of the second national lockdown. The experienced travel consultants are ready and waiting to help holidaymakers plan their breaks for 2021 and beyond, when the post-Christmas, peak holiday booking season begins. Many Brits had their 2020 holiday plans thwarted by Covid-19 and Co-operative Travel is seeing growing demand from customers for “dream holidays”. The effects of the pandemic on the travel industry has also created opportunities for customers to snap up luxury holidays to the Caribbean, Mauritius and the Maldives for record value prices. The Co-operative Travel branch in Oakham (Inside Co-operative Food, Burley Road), plus the Carrick Travel agency in Grantham (14 Guildhall Street), will re-open on 28 December 2020. This follows the earlier reopening of the branch in Market Deeping (7 The Precincts) on 7 December. Natalie Turner, Head of Branches for Co-operative Travel said: “Once Christmas is over, thoughts typically turn to holidays, and we’re delighted that all our branches will be open by 28 December, to welcome customers safely, and help them plan their well-earned getaway. “We’re already seeing an upturn in holiday bookings, particularly for departures from May 2021 onwards, which we’re attributing to the fantastic progress being made on the Covid-19 vaccine, the opening of further travel corridors to some of our favourite long-haul destinations, and the positive developments on the “test to release” quarantine system, all of which have boosted consumer confidence to travel. “We’re seeing growing demand for holidays to long-haul “dream” destinations such as the Maldives and the Caribbean, and a desire for secluded, socially distanced luxury. Many of our customers missed out on their annual getaway in 2020 and, as a result, are eager to book something extra special for 2021. “We have also been blown-away by the amazing deals that we’ve been able to offer our customers, courtesy of the many and varied travel companies we work with. Holidaymakers have been snapping up luxury holidays with unbeatable savings, including seven-nights, all-inclusive at the Furaveri Island Resort & Spa in the Maldives from just £1,579pp, with return flights. This represents a saving of £2,998 per couple and is available on departures throughout 2021 and 2022.” Other offers available to Co-operative Travel customers include seven nights, all-inclusive at the Anelia Resort & Spa in Mauritius, from £1,159pp, including flights, transfers and a free room upgrade, and representing a 50 per cent saving; and seven nights, all-inclusive at the Sunset at the Palms resort in Jamaica, staying in a Tree House Deluxe room, from £1,259pp including return flights in Premium with Virgin Atlantic. “Whilst we have remained available to customers via phone, online and social media, when the stores have had to close, nothing beats the reassurance of face-to-face contact with a travel expert. With the confusion around travel corridors, quarantine rules and Covid test requirements, which vary by country, it’s never been more important for holidaymakers to book with an experienced and trusted travel agent. Our expert travel consultants are ready to navigate customers through the complexities of the current travel booking process and send them on the holiday of their dreams”, continued Turner. In addition to the branches, Co-operative Travel’s virtual call centre is open every Monday – Saturday, handling enquiries and bookings by email (customersupport@cooptravel.coop), phone (01922 908 389) and via social media (www.facebook.com/cooperativetraveluk). Co-operative Travel has 78 branches across the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Gloucestershire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Somerset, Wiltshire and Rutland.
