New homes available at development through Rent to Buy scheme

September 8, 2025 Leave a Comment

An amazing opportunity arises for people seeking new homes in Lincolnshire as The Shermont style home becomes available at the Handley Chase development.

Interior of a typical Platform Home

The Handley Chase development, Sleaford, has launched 160 high-quality, affordable homes in partnership with five-star housebuilder Miller Homes. This brand-new development is located in the friendly market town of Sleaford, on the edge of the Fenlands, in the idyllic Lincolnshire countryside.

The Shermont style home is a spacious two bedroom semi-detached or end-terrace property that can be rented for just £660 per month under the Government Rent to Buy scheme, offering great features with its open-plan kitchen/dining space looking out onto the garden. Access to the garden makes it perfect for enjoying warm summer evenings at home and the integrated fixtures are ideal for hosting all year round.

The ground floor opens into a living room ready to be transformed with large windows brightening up the home. This floor also has a downstairs bathroom and storage cupboard.

Upstairs boasts two bedrooms and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. Both the living room and the bedrooms offer plenty of space allowing flexibility when making furniture decisions.

All these features make the home suitable for first time buyers, families or people who work from home with the option to use the second bedroom to fit their needs.

Rent to Buy is a government scheme that enables individuals to rent a home at a reduced rate, while saving up for a deposit over a period of up to five years.

Renters will typically pay a reduced rent of 80% of the home’s market value and the remaining 20% will go towards a deposit for future purchase. During or after the tenancy residents will be able purchase the home via Shared Ownership, or buy it outright once the five-year period has ended, allowing them flexibility to choose the option that suits them best.

Donna Gadd, Area Sales Manager at Platform, said: “This is a great opportunity for people in the Sleaford community looking to be homeowners

“Our priority is giving people the chance to climb the property ladder and these new government schemes are more important than ever right now.

“The Shermont Style property is a modern and spacious home helping people achieve home ownership”

The local area has several primary and secondary schools, a variety of amenities to fulfil all needs and great transport links via, car, bus and train.

As with all Platform Home Ownership properties, these homes include a 10-year new homes warranty.
