New Golf Operations Assistant Manager for Belton Woods

January 23, 2026 Leave a Comment

Introducing Duncan Bagshaw, the new Golf Operations Assistant Manager for Belton Woods — and quite possibly the only person you’ll ever meet who thinks running marathons while carrying a full set of golf clubs is a perfectly reasonable hobby.

(Yes, really! He’s completed 3 marathons with a full set of clubs on his back, to raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Charity, not quickly, he points out, but it’s still a questionable thing to take on!)

Duncan joins us with a wealth of recent experience in the game.

Most recently, he has worked as a professional caddie on the Hotel Planner Tour at JCB Golf & Country Club, where he’s supported elite players, VIP guests, and the occasional golfer who insists they “definitely hit a Pro V1” even though it’s clearly a range ball!

As a youngster, he worked at the prestigious Gleneagles Hotel and spent time working on the European Tour for Specialist Putting Coach Dr Paul Hurrion before a career in Residential Education Management.

Beyond the fairways, Duncan co-hosts The Ordinary Golfer Podcast, where he talks all things golf with a blend of honesty, humour, and the kind of stories you only get from someone who has spent decades around the game. If you enjoy golf chat that doesn’t take itself too seriously, you’ll feel right at home.

Pop in and say hello… you might find a very friendly Black Labrador called Lanky with him as well.
