Grantham Museum held its Annual General Meeting last week, where David Burling was elected Chair of Trustees for Grantham Community Heritage Association and Chairperson of Grantham Museum

He succeeds Malcolm Robbins who had been Chair for 4 years and steered the charity to set a course for the future.

Paying tribute to his predecessor, Mr Burling said “Malcolm has been the rock that Grantham Museum needed and leaves the chair with the Museum on a sure footing, well prepared for what the future holds. Malcolm will remain on the board and provide the experience necessary to deliver our goals”.

“I would like to pay tribute to our departing directors, Christine Robbins and Alison Burling.

“They have spent many years developing our Museum, growing our events and outreach programme and we have some really big shoes to fill. They will be sorely missed and the entire organisation is grateful for all of their efforts”.

Grantham Museum welcomes the new board for 2019/2020. They are:

David Burling (Chair)

Malcolm Robbins

Nicholas Jones

Amanda Schonhut

James Kearney

Graham Jeal

David addsed: “We are very excited for what the next year holds and we look forward to showing more of Grantham, telling more of the stories and bringing our heritage to life in new and innovative ways”
