LORD Harrowby landlady Lynda Senior described Saturday’s Apple Day as “Fantastic” with lots of entries in the Apple Bake Off.
The three judges had a difficult time deciding on a winner as all entries looked and tasted equally delicious.
The winner of the first category went to Sharon Leeson for her traditional apple pie with Vera Clark runner up, followed by Jane Smith.
The second category which was any pudding or cake containing apple was won by Debby Summers who made a fabulous cake in the shape of an apple complete with marzipan maggots.
Second and third place went to none other than the landlord of the Dudley Road hostelry John Senior, although it would be no surprise for those who remember him at the Blue Bull.
He made an apple bread and butter pudding and an apple tart.
The evening was rounded off with music from Andy who played guitar and sang.
Lynda said: “A most enjoyable day that I think will become an annual event.”
