My (and my pets’) experience with Grantham vet!

Michelle Parnell says…

I wanted to share my experience, I suppose a kind of review on the treatment our dog received.

Over 40+ years we have rescued dogs, sometimes three at a time and cats which one time had 20 kittens. So we have used all the vets in town one way or another.

We changed several years ago to Belvoir, not knowing them, they were new, but ultimately because it was nearer to a lovely wood walk. My dog enjoys his walks. We pay the etc service each month so we do not have huge costs for worming, flee tablets, free consultations well they are in the price, and we have been with Napo insurance over three years.

My dog who is an Alaskan Malamute aged 8 this month had to have an operation to remove a huge swelling, had blood tests, operation and after care.

Thank goodness the lump or lesion wasn’t cancer, so relief all around. Our boy went in for his operation, because we couldn’t get him home with a huge lampshade on, Belvoir brought him back in their van. The cost was £60, two nurses came with him. Fantastic service from these lovely men.

We had check ups and shade came off, big mistake, my boy decided to clean up and opened all his wound after his stitches came out. Back to the vets again, another course of antibiotics.

We went back yesterday and he now has the full all clear, however shade will stay on until his hair has grown over the wound. At every part of our boys treatment it was explained who was operating which was Richard who did a fabulous cut, the line was brilliant.

The wound did fill up with liquid again, so we went back but Cees was so good with him, said it would go down and indeed it did. Not one vet over the years has ever explained each part of his care, we were very shocked by how much we learnt.

Never had this treatment and dedication before. I am not saying it doesn’t happen to other people, and I am certainly not dissing other practices, but us personally haven’t received information. Before our animals were left and picked up that’s it.

The animals I have seen come into this vets all look happy to see the staff. My insurance Napo were amazing, had three claims 1) £300 2) £1500 3) 50.

The first paid in a few hours, the second in an hour, the third 15 minutes.. so I call that a result. Really happy with his treatment, he loves visiting Belvoir vets… long may they continue.
