A team of next generation entrepreneurs from the University of Nottingham has placed in the ‘top four’ at the annual Enactus World Cup.
Representing Enactus UK, the University of Nottingham team, in partnership with leading food company Moy Park, travelled to the global competition which took place earlier this month in Puerto Rico. The team joined other young leaders to showcase the next generation of social innovation excellence to a panel of judges, placing fourth out of 32 nations competing.
Team members Lily Gibson, Alice McCormack, Ramneek Kaur, Jonathon George, Sarah Buckle and Zayn Ali competed alongside team leader Annabel Mair, who commented on the fantastic achievement of the team,
“I am beyond proud of our Enactus Nottingham team for reaching the top four at the Enactus World Cup. We are so grateful to have received so much support from Enactus UK, Moy Park and our Partners throughout this journey.
“It was such an incredible and inspiring experience meeting teams from across the world and seeing how their projects are changing the world and transforming lives.”
A team from Egypt was voted overall winners of the 2022 Enactus World with the teams from Tunisia, Canada and the United Kingdom making up the other teams in the Final Four.
Ahead of this year’s competition, colleagues at Moy Park Grantham helped the team to prepare, with feedback and advice on the presentation that would go on to be presented to the final judging panel in Puerto Rico.
Clive Taylor, Director of Business at Moy Park sits on the non-executive Enactus board, advising and lending support to the young people as part of the company’s ongoing partnership with the social enterprise.
With an already successful programme of apprenticeship, graduate and rotational placement students, Moy Park is passionate about creating and developing careers for young people and through its ongoing partnership with Enactus UK, the company hopes to inspire up and coming leaders to embrace a career in the food sector.
Jason Winstanley, Head of Research, and Insights at Moy Park and Enactus Business Coach, explains,
“We are proud of our long-standing partnership with Enactus and our focus on helping further the careers of young people across the UK.
