Move over Monet, a new generation of young Grantham artists is making waves

March 10, 2026 Leave a Comment

Cygnets Art School, a children’s fine art franchise, is launching locally, offering inspiring art classes for children aged 5 and up. With a proven track record of success, Cygnets has helped thousands of young creatives across the UK since its founding in 2015.

Established by Central Saint Martins graduate Tabitha Booth and her husband James Heslip, Cygnets brings world-class art expertise to communities nationwide.

Local franchise owner Clare Langley shares their excitement:
“We’re excited to be opening the next Cygnets branch right here in Grantham. We are holding a launch event on the 28th of March at Grantham Museum, which was fully booked in just over 24hrs of being advertised! We’re thrilled to help children discover the joy of art through Cygnets’ unique approach. It’s going to be an exciting year for our community and for the children who get to experience our step-by-step art methods for the first time.”

For many, art can feel daunting — capturing the beauty of a landscape or the details of a human face is no easy feat. Cygnets Art School changes that. Their distinctive teaching method breaks complex techniques into manageable steps, empowering even the youngest students to create stunning artwork.

“We make art accessible and achievable,” says Clare, “Our students consistently produce impressive results that surprise even themselves.”

As art education becomes increasingly limited in schools, Cygnets fills a vital gap by fostering creativity and skill development. Their website showcases an inspiring gallery of student creations — from vibrant insects and prehistoric beasts to delicate foliage and majestic fawns — each piece a testament to the school’s impact.

Founder Tabitha Booth explains: “Creativity plays a crucial role in children’s development. When art is sidelined in traditional education, organisations like Cygnets become essential to nurturing imagination, fine motor skills, and mental wellbeing — all while making art incredibly fun.”

Clare adds: “Our mission is to have a Cygnets branch in every community across the UK, building confidence and inspiring kids who might never have thought they could be artists. We can’t wait to meet the local students and help them create art they’ll be proud of.”
