Grantham’s Meres leisure centre will remain open for now, despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
Director of 1Life Becca Douglas said today: “In light of the recent Government and medical advice regarding Covid-19, we want to reassure our community that we remain open and we are doing everything we can to safeguard our staff and members.
“Cleaning patterns have increased and all kit is thoroughly cleaned throughout the day. Our swimming pool(s) also remain open.
“Public Health opinion is that it’s perfectly safe to go swimming at this time so long as you’re fit and well. We are pleased to say that the water and the levels of chlorine do in fact help kill viruses.
“We wish to remind anyone who is feeling unwell to stay at home. We also request that on arrival and at the end of the visit, customers sanitise their hands.
“We would like to remind people that the best way to boost and build your immunity is through regular physical activity and enjoying a healthy diet. We therefore, encourage those who can, to remain active and maintain their current programme of exercise.
“We are doing everything we can and keeping up-to-date with any current changes, we hope the community can understand and support the measures we are taking.”
