Matt & Brad’s NC500 Big Bike Challenge 2023

May 6, 2023 by Grantham Matters Leave a Comment

Two Grantham men are raising money for SOUTH LINCOLNSHIRE BLIND SOCIETY and ST BARNABAS HOSPICE TRUST (LINCOLNSHIRE)

Event dates: 25th June 2023 – 1st July 2023

The aim of the challenge is to raise lots of money for some fantastic charities and local beneficiaries, by going on a big and testing cycle ride.

In June and July this year Matt Thompson and Brad O’Hara based in Grantham, Lincolnshire will be tackling one of the most amazing road routes in the world, The Scottish North Coast 500.

Bringing together a route of just over 500 miles (516 to be exact) of stunning coastal scenery, white sandy beaches, rugged mountains, remote fishing villages, hidden gems, and a wealth of unforgettable experiences.

The NC500 route will take Matt and Brad 7 days to navigate, averaging 75 miles and over 6,000 ft of hill climbing a day. The ride will take them in a clockwise direction starting and finishing in the town of Inverness.

This challenge although visibly pleasing on the eye will be a huge effort both physically and mentally and certainly the hardest thing both Matt and Brad have done in their lives to date. Preparation is key and training is a must.

Matt, Brad and the whole support team would like to thank you all in advance for your support in ensuring we get through this in one piece!

Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They’ll take your donation and pass it onto SOUTH LINCOLNSHIRE BLIND SOCIETY and ST BARNABAS HOSPICE TRUST (LINCOLNSHIRE).
