Man dies following incident near Grantham pub

The victim of an alleged serious assault near the Kings Arms, in Westgate, on Friday28th February night, has died.

At 11.20pm on Friday 28^th February police were called to a report of an injured man. The man, that 34-year-old Danny Maguire from Nottingham was taken to QMC hospital, Nottingham, with a serious head injury.

Luke Templeman, 27, of Launder Terrace, Grantham was charged in connection with this. He appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court Monday 2nd March where he was remanded in custody.

A member of his family, in a facebook posting, hasreported he died at 11.30am yesterday, Friday 6^th March.

Dawn Charlton wrote: “I am so devastated, not just for me but for my family, whom I’ve watched and supported this whole week while we watched helplessly in hope that a miracle would take place,

“It’s been 7 days of hell.”
