Network Rail Is to close Springfield Road bridge to carry out repairs and improvements as party of a programme costing £2.7million in Grantham.
The strengthening work to carry the East Coast Main Line spanning Barrowby Road, was completed at the beginning of this month, after a 123 week closure.
Now it’s the turn of Springfield Road which will close to all traffic from 7am on Monday week (4th January)
It includes repairs to the steel and brickwork, re-waterproofing, and re-painting sections of them to make sure they are fit for the future.
It is due to reopen on at 5pm on Monday, March 29th
A Network Rail spokesman said: “This will help reduce the amount of disruption to people and businesses in Grantham, which I know is especially important as we look to reopen the economy following the restrictions which have been in place during the Covid-19 pandemic.”
