Look what they found in the river!

For their106th group clean-up Grantham Rivercare had 20 volunteers joining them; The day also gave us an opportunity to mark the second day of Love Parks Week.

Teams covered the riverside, in and out of the River Witham with another team taking in the local park, and streets to eliminate litter going down street drains and in the river.

Although the general litter picked up on dry land was slightly below average, unfortunately this could not be said about the items that came from the river, but Gary and his land team did a cracking job of retrieving…..

2 bikes (one electric), 2 trolleys, skateboard, VCR, traffic cones, wood panels, depth gauge, football, plastic chair…… and the list goes on.

14 bags where collected that contained over 110 recyclable items such as cans, plastic bottles and glass bottles.
And as with the majority of our litter picks we picked up face masks, this time 13, a little way of our recently collected 33.
