Long delays next week for South Kesteven motorists

Drivers in and around South Kesteven will have nine National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A1, from 7am September 1 to 11pm September 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound, Tickencote to Wothorpe, slip road closure and temporary event signing for the Burghley House horse trials.

• A1, from 7am August 26 to 7pm December 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 southbound, Harlaxton, diversion route via National Highways network for works on local authority network.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A1, from 8pm September 2 to 6am September 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound, Stamford to Grantham, carriageway, slip road and lane closures due to electrical works, diversion via National Highways and local authority networks.

• A52, from 9pm September 3 to 5am September 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A52 eastbound and westbound, Sedgebrook to Barrowby, temporary traffic signals and lane closure for maintenance works.

• A1, from 8pm September 7 to 5am September 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1 southbound, Harlaxton, slip road closure due to manitenance works, diversion via National Highways and local authority network.

• A1, from 8pm September 9 to 5am September 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound, Stoke Rochford to Great Ponton, Lane closure due to maintenance works.

• A1, from 10pm September 10 to 6am September 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1 southbound, Harlaxton to Colsterworth, carriageway, lane, slip road and layby closure for renewal works, diversion via local authority network.

• A1, from 8pm September 13 to 6am September 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 southbound, Great Gonerby to Barrowby, Lane closure due to maintenance works.

• A1, from 9pm September 16 to 5am September 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound, Tinwell, Lane closures for electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
