Plans for this year’s 11+ testing have been modified in light of the disruption caused by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The arrangements for 11+ testing are delegated to the Lincolnshire Consortium of Grammar Schools.
The tests for the September 2021 in-take will still take place. However, because of the disruption caused by Covid-19, the consortium has put them back a week.
This means they are now scheduled for the weekends of 18/19 and 25/26 September.
In addition, the consortium has cancelled the usual practice tests for this year.
David Allsop, chair of the consortium, said: “The consortium wants to make sure that the testing remains fair for all.
“Due to the pandemic, it was impossible to ensure that every child who intends to sit the actual test in September would have the opportunity to do a practice test beforehand as usual.
“This could have meant that some pupils had a better chance to prepare than others.
“Therefore, the consortium has decided to cancel the practice tests for this year.
“To mitigate the impact of this, we are directing families to material that is available online to help pupils prepare.
“This should help ensure a level playing field during the actual test in September.”
