A Sky News feature on diversity and recruitment within Lincolnshire Police is showing today.
Reporter Noel Phillips visited the force to find out about our current recruitment drive and our ongoing work to ensure the force is as diverse and inclusive as possible.
ACC Kerrin Wilson, who is one of only two women of colour in senior leadership roles in all of the UK’s 43 police forces, talked to Noel about the programs in force aimed at eliminating some of the “unconscious bias” within existing structures.
As well as highlighting the ongoing activities within force to welcome people from all backgrounds, ACC Wilson also talked about how she wanted everyone involved in policing, not just people of colour, to address racial disparity.
Noel joined Lincoln-based officers PC Anna Tarmanowska, who is originally from Poland, and PC Nathan Addlesee to find out more about the day job and about how we represent our communities.
DS Jesee Karanga, who hails from Kenya and now works in CID investigating serous and complex crime, also met with Noel to talk about his journey into Lincolnshire Police.
The piece is showing on Sky all morning so take a look!
