If you or someone you know is caring for a person living with dementia, this scheme is worth knowing about.
The scheme offers a latex-free wristband fitted with NFC technology. If the wearer becomes lost or disorientated, anyone nearby can scan it with a smartphone to access key information and help reunite them with their family quickly and safely.
Lincolnshire Police also securely holds a Herbert Protocol form and recent photograph for each person registered. If they are ever reported missing, officers have vital details to hand from the very first moment – when time matters most.
This feedback came in today from a family who used the scheme:
“I would like to thank you for the support we received, from our initial discussions through to the point where we no longer need your assistance. The confidence we felt, knowing that you would be there for Dad should he ever lose his way, was indispensable. You will always have our gratitude.”
