Emergency services and local life-saving charities will be exhibiting on 9th September as part of a special flag raising event in Grantham.
Emergency Services Day will be celebrated by South Kesteven District Council with an invitation to the public to attend the flag raising ceremony at 9am and talk to exhibitors – all at St Peter’s Hill – during the morning.
Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue will be joined by Lincolnshire’s Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service (LIVES), a charity delivering rapid, lifesaving first response care for 999 emergencies through a network of community first responders.
A LIVES emergency response vehicle will be on show with volunteers offering training in how to use a defibrillator and administer life-saving CPR resuscitation techniques.
Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes Service (LEBBS) will also be represented as another volunteer operated charity, run entirely on donations.
Its out-of-hours courier service transports essential medical items such as blood, pathology & microbiology specimens, medical notes and donor breast milk between hospitals and healthcare facilities.
The time and date, 9am on 9th September mirrors the UK’s familiar 999 number for emergency calls.
