Time is running out for people to make their views known on moves to bring a new town or parish council for Grantham.
The deadline for residents, businesses and key stakeholders to respond to South Kesteven District Council’s final draft recommendations is 5pm on Monday August 7th.
Before it makes its final decision, the elected members want to know what local people think.
They are being invited to complete an online survey at www.southkesteven.gov.uk/GranthamCGR
Full details, including timetables, earlier consultation results, current administrative arrangements and the aims of the review are available online at www.southkesteven.gov.uk/granthamCGR or by contacting SKDC’s Democratic Services Team on 01476 406080 or email cgr@southkesteven.gov.uk
Printed copies of the survey are also available upon request.
An SKDC spokesperson said: “It is all about a new level of local representation which will govern how some local services are financed, administered and delivered.
“We have had a good response from people giving their opinions on the proposals.
“But we really do need to hear from everyone who may have something to say, so I would encourage them to read through the information and click onto the questionnaire before the deadline.”
Alternative formats are available on request in audio, large print and Braille from South Kesteven District Council: 01476 40 60 80 or via cgr@southkesteven.gov.uk
The proposals also ask if people agree with the proposed ward arrangements for the new town council and the number of town councillors they think is appropriate.
A Community Governance Review is a formal process involving consultation with local electors and other interested parties on potential changes such as creating new parishes, setting up or abolishing town/parish councils and changing their boundaries or electoral arrangements.
