Kathryn Salt MBE has been selected as the Labour Party candidate for Grantham and Stamford.
As a miner’s daughter from Bolsover, she has worked tirelessly with Dennis Skinner on many poignant issues in their communities.
She said: “As chair of Midlands women’s TUC, we have worked hard in order to ensure that homeless people are supported and also to eradicate period poverty.
“No chid should not be able to attend school for they cannot afford sanitary wear. Sanitary wear should be free for all.
“I have worked alongside the Waspi movement to try and get the 50s ladies their pension. They paid into their pension and should now be receiving it.
“I salute all the people whom have worked tirelessly in order to get the A and E reinstated 24/7. I have attended their vigils and I would make this my top priority.
“Our rural areas needs protecting from fracking. We need to ensure our high streets are protected and regenerated.
“I am a people’s person and always listen to people. I genuinely care about Grantham and Stamford would live in the area and work with all of the people and would be proud to do so.”
