Pupils at The King’s School in Grantham have launched a fundraising campaign to buy portable LED floodlights for use across a range of school activities.
The initiative, known as the King’s Floodlight Fundraiser, has been organised by the school’s student council and aims to raise enough money to purchase lightweight, eco-friendly floodlights that can be used both indoors and outdoors.
The primary goal is to allow the school’s rugby and football teams to train safely during the darker winter months, but the floodlights would also support CCF camps, drama productions, alumni events and other activities requiring reliable lighting.
The campaign has set three fundraising targets. Reaching £2,320 would fund the purchase of four floodlights, £4,635 would secure eight, and the top target of £5,795 would allow the school to buy ten floodlights along with the chargers and batteries needed to illuminate larger areas.
The school said every contribution would help move the campaign closer to creating a more versatile environment for its students.
