They used to say?? .When I lived up that way! Best tomatoes ever in them fields around sewage fields? makes sense I suppose! .Never tried any that knew? I did know someone we used to visit in Barkston Village that had beautiful Tomatoes ???? So mebbe I have!?
When I was young my mother would sometimes go to see her sister who lived near to Blackpool, and we would get Blackpool tomatoes. Had a very rich taste, very popular around Lancashire and Yorkshire I believe. Don’t hear of them now though.
