Chris Haward has been confirmed as the new Chief Constable for Lincolnshire Police.
He expects to take up the post on December 21st after current Chief Bill Skelly retires, and moves from his current role as head of the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) where he has led on Major Crime Investigations, tackling Serious and Organised Crime, covert policing and Counter Terrorism.
In 2016 Mr Haward moved to Derbyshire Constabulary as Assistant Chief Constable and took over EMSOU in early 2018 in the rank of Deputy Chief Constable. He is married with two children.
Mr Haward said he is “delighted” to be appointed as the new Chief for Lincolnshire and is looking forward to getting started.
The first things he intends to do are to get out and about in Lincolnshire’s communities in order to understand what is important to people who live and work here; prioritise resource in order to improve our fight against crime; listen to officers and staff about ways to improve public safety; and consider processes around rehabilitation so we ensure we are helping those most in need.
