Philip George Isaac (1915-1984)
Philip George Isaac was born in Grantham into a musical family and went to Kings School before training to be a teacher specialising in Music.
He married Gwyneth Ellis in Wakefield, in late 1939 before joining the RAF as wireless operator in the Second World War, serving in India.
He was demobilised while at RAF Spitalgate and became a teacher at the National School in Castlegate and the County Secondary School on Huntingtower Road.
During this time he played the Piano and Trumpet and became well known as Secretary of the Grantham Orchestral and Choral Society.
He was member of similar Societies in both Stamford and Peterborough.
At one time he lived in Dryden Close.
He was appointed Head Teacher at Colsterworth C E School in 1953.
